Gerwyn Price enters the Australian Darts Masters opener against Simon Whitlock as the top seed and recent New Zealand Masters finalist, yet traders price the Welshman at just 51% implied probability amid tight balance. Price’s strong recent scoring form and higher world ranking contrast with Whitlock’s veteran experience, Australian home support, and history of competitive World Series showings on familiar turf. Whitlock’s steady play under pressure and ability to exploit any inconsistency from Price after the latter’s final loss help keep the contest even. Shifts in early-match averages, crowd momentum, or Whitlock’s finishing could quickly alter sentiment in either direction.
