The 2026 midterm elections are scheduled to be held on November 3, 2026. Recent polling for the 2026 midterm congressional elections shows Republican candidates drawing between 8% and 19% support among Black voters, with most national surveys clustering in the low-to-mid teens. This range aligns with 2024 presidential results while reflecting erosion from early post-election gains, driven by economic pressures including higher Black unemployment, inflation, and affordability concerns alongside administration actions on DEI programs and voting district maps. Party identification data from Pew places Black adults at roughly 14% Republican or leaning Republican as of mid-2026. The narrow spread among market outcomes around 12-13% versus adjacent brackets captures ongoing uncertainty over turnout, regional variations, and whether modest shifts seen in some 2025-2026 surveys will hold through November. Key upcoming catalysts include final generic ballot trends and any late economic or policy developments that could widen or narrow the margin.
