Older women voters remain closely divided ahead of the 2026 midterms, with recent polling showing Democratic and Republican candidates nearly tied or separated by just a few points among those 50 and older. Economic pressures, including cost-of-living concerns, retirement security, and perceptions of financial stability, weigh heavily on this group alongside priorities such as Social Security and Medicare. High shares of undecided voters in this demographic, combined with softening Republican support among seniors compared to 2024 results, sustain the tight contest. Policy developments on entitlements, healthcare costs, or broader economic indicators could shift preferences, as could targeted campaign messaging or turnout efforts that address these overlapping voter priorities before November.
