Sora Fukuda and Koki Matsuda meet in the M15 Karuizawa quarterfinals on clay after both secured straight-set or three-set victories in the prior rounds to reach this stage. Fukuda, ranked around 700, has posted back-to-back wins including a resilient comeback against Yuta Tomida, while higher-ranked Matsuda at approximately 487 has looked sharp with efficient wins over Ko Suzuki and Kentaro Otsuka. Their head-to-head record stands even at 1-1, with Matsuda taking their most recent encounter on hard courts last year. The evenly matched Japanese players bring comparable recent momentum and limited prior clay-court data into the matchup, leaving outcome probabilities sensitive to any last-minute fitness updates or serving consistency on the slower surface.
