Spencer Johnson enters the ITF M15 Claremont semifinal on a strong run after capturing his first pro singles title at the preceding Irvine event and posting straight-sets wins over Bryce Nakashima and Strong Kirchheimer in Claremont. The 23-year-old UCLA senior has shown consistent baseline aggression and improved closing ability on hard courts. Jagger Leach, a 19-year-old Stanford player and local wild card from Orange County, reached the semifinals with a comeback victory over Luca Pow and brings junior pedigree that includes a Wimbledon boys’ doubles final appearance. The pair has no prior head-to-head record. The hard-court surface and short turnaround between matches favor the player maintaining sharper recent match play, though Leach’s familiarity with the Biszantz Family Tennis Center venue could influence early-set dynamics.
