The Chicago Cubs (34-34) visit the Colorado Rockies (26-42) at Coors Field on June 11, where the high-altitude environment typically boosts offensive output for both sides. The Cubs enter on a three-game losing streak after dropping the first two contests of this series, including a 3-2 walk-off defeat, and remain eight games behind in the NL Central amid ongoing offensive inconsistencies and multiple pitching injuries, including Jameson Taillon’s hamstring strain. The Rockies, despite their last-place standing in the NL West and a lengthy injured list featuring pitchers like José Quintana, have capitalized on home starts with recent series wins and benefit from the thin air that challenges visiting arms. Day-to-day roster questions for both clubs, such as Jake McCarthy’s illness for Colorado, add uncertainty to lineups and bullpen availability heading into the afternoon matchup.
