The St. Louis Cardinals enter their upcoming matchup with the Cincinnati Reds riding strong recent form after completing a three-game sweep in St. Louis from June 6-7, improving to 35-28 while handing the Reds a fourth straight loss to drop them to 31-33 in the NL Central. Defensive miscues, including costly errors in the eighth inning of the finale, and bullpen struggles have hampered Cincinnati, compounded by Elly De La Cruz's absence limiting offensive production. Jordan Walker has continued his hot streak against the division rival, and St. Louis has allowed fewer than five runs in most recent outings. Both clubs face challenging road schedules ahead, with the Cardinals traveling to face the Mets and the Reds heading to San Diego, keeping divisional positioning fluid through the summer slate.
