Flight tracking data from FlightAware and FAA reports show over 650 US flights already cancelled by early afternoon on March 26, surpassing the 550 threshold amid severe winter weather disrupting operations at key hubs like Chicago O'Hare, Denver, and New York-area airports. Heavy snow, high winds, and low visibility from a fast-moving storm system across the Midwest and Northeast have grounded thousands of passengers, with de-icing delays and runway closures compounding the issue. Trader consensus at 99% "Yes" reflects this irreversible momentum, as remaining flights face ongoing disruptions. Only an extraordinary operational turnaround, such as abrupt weather clearing or mass waivers, could drop totals below the line before midnight ET, though such scenarios remain highly improbable.
