**Swiss National Bank policy expectations center on the September 24 monetary assessment, where markets assign a 90% implied probability to no change in the 0% policy rate.** Low and contained inflation—most recently 0.8% year-over-year in August—remains comfortably inside the 0–2% price-stability range, with SNB forecasts projecting averages near 0.6% for 2026 and 2027. The Swiss franc’s strength has damped imported price pressures, while the estimated neutral rate near zero supports a steady stance amid subdued domestic demand. Recent energy-driven inflation spikes have been viewed as transitory, reinforcing trader consensus that the SNB will prioritize foreign-exchange intervention flexibility over rate adjustments. Limited odds on 25-basis-point moves reflect the narrow window for surprise shifts before year-end data releases.
