Chelsea’s late move for Emiliano Martinez stems from Robert Sanchez’s error-strewn Premier League opener against Fulham and Aston Villa’s decision to install Zion Suzuki as their new No. 1 after his £30m arrival from Parma. The clubs quickly agreed a £7.5m fee, with the 33-year-old Argentina international set to sign a two-year deal plus option at Stamford Bridge following the collapse of an earlier Juventus approach. These confirmed steps, occurring days before the transfer window closes, have produced overwhelming trader consensus around a Chelsea destination. A last-minute medical issue or contract snag remains the only realistic path that could reopen other options.
