The Chicago Cubs (54-42) hold a clear edge over the Detroit Tigers (44-52) entering their three-game series at Wrigley Field beginning July 20. The Cubs sit second in the NL Central while the Tigers occupy fourth in the AL Central, 6.5 games back. Chicago’s home/road split and recent form give them advantages in a matchup where the Tigers have dealt with key injuries, including reliever Will Vest (elbow) and infielder Gleyber Torres (oblique). Pitching depth, bullpen reliability, and how both clubs perform after the All-Star break will shape outcomes, with the Cubs’ stronger overall record and home-field factors reflected in current market pricing.
