Both ROC Esports and Geekay Esports, Malaysian sides from the MKL, advanced to the Honor of Kings World Cup 2026 third-place match after strong quarterfinal wins—ROC defeating Team Vitality 4-1 and Geekay overcoming Team Nemesis 4-1—before straight-set semifinal eliminations by AG.AL and Kuaishou Gaming, respectively. ROC’s recently integrated roster, featuring experienced players such as Xuan, KongLing, and Wendy, demonstrated solid execution through the bracket, while Geekay maintained competitive series against top KPL opposition earlier in the event. The BO5 format for third place highlights their head-to-head history and regional form, with no reported roster disruptions or external factors altering preparation ahead of the August 8 matchup.
