Ivan Gretskiy and Pranav Karthik meet in the first round of the ITF M15 Hurghada on outdoor hard courts, where both players have compiled comparable records on the surface in recent months. The 20-year-old Russian enters with a modest ATP ranking edge and mixed results from prior Hurghada stops, including straight-set wins offset by early exits. Karthik, an Indian player with a stronger recent win rate against slightly higher-caliber opposition, has posted solid victories in the same event series but suffered a straight-sets loss in the preceding M25 edition. With no prior head-to-head meetings, the contest hinges on baseline consistency and return effectiveness, as both competitors rely on steady second-serve holds rather than dominant first-serve pressure.
