Kawaguchi has shown solid recent form with a victory over Yu-Chen Lin in the event and prior wins on hard courts, while Yang secured a straight-sets Billie Jean King Cup win but holds a 4-7 record in 2026. The outdoor hard-court surface favors consistent baseline play, where Kawaguchi's experience gives her an edge. Yang benefits from local support in Taipei and familiarity with the conditions as a home player. Head-to-head history is limited and dated, leaving recent form, ranking, and situational factors as the main drivers of trader consensus on implied probabilities.
