Sofya Lansere holds a ranking edge at No. 266 over Elena Malygina’s No. 315 entering the Rome clay-court event, reflecting stronger year-to-date singles results for the Russian. Malygina enters with a solid 17-10 record in 2026 and recent ITF activity in Europe, while Lansere’s schedule has featured more hard-court and Asian swing matches with mixed outcomes. Head-to-head history favors the higher-ranked player on clay surfaces, though both compete primarily on the ITF and lower WTA levels where form can shift quickly. No major injury reports or withdrawals have surfaced in the past week to alter the draw, keeping the focus on current fitness and adaptation to the slow, high-bouncing conditions typical of Rome. Trader pricing reflects the consensus edge for the better-ranked player in this qualifying or early-round context.
