This market will resolve to the player that wins the 2026 World Chess Championship. If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed player to win the 2026 World Chess Championship per the rules of FIDE, the corresponding market will resolve to “No”. If the 2026 World Chess Championship tournament is cancelled, postponed, or partially completed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source will be official information from FIDE; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Sindarov leads market pricing for the 2026 World Chess Championship title match in Geneva because of his dominant, unbeaten 10/14 Candidates victory in April that secured the challenger spot, combined with sustained elite form and a career-high rating near 2775. The 20-year-old Uzbek has posted strong results across multiple 2026 classical events while maintaining an extensive playing schedule. Gukesh, the defending champion, enters as the underdog after a clear dip that dropped his rating below 2710 and produced last-place finishes in key tournaments such as Norway Chess and Chennai Grand Masters. Both players will be just 20 at match time, making this the youngest title clash in history, though Gukesh’s greater prior match experience at the absolute top level remains a noted factor in the 29.5% consensus on his retention of the crown.
