Carlos Alcaraz meets surging local Valentin Vacherot in the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters semifinals on clay Saturday, their first ATP head-to-head. Alcaraz, the 2025 defending champion, notched his 300th career win by dispatching Alexander Bublik in the quarters after straight-setting Tomas Martin Etcheverry earlier, affirming his elite clay pedigree amid a strong European swing start. Vacherot, now world No. 23 and eyeing a Top 20 debut, etched history as Monaco's first semifinalist here, rallying past Hubert Hurkacz for the quarterfinals before outlasting No. 9 Alex de Minaur in a tense decider amid heavy home-crowd support at Court Rainier III. Alcaraz's superior rankings, power baseline game, and surface history contrast Vacherot's momentum and fatigue-tested resilience from five matches.
