Juan Manuel Cerundolo holds a clear edge over Jesper de Jong in their Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell qualifying final on clay, buoyed by his No. 71 ATP ranking versus de Jong's No. 108, prior head-to-head win on clay at the 2023 Tigre Challenger final, and stronger surface history as an Argentine left-hander. Both advanced via first-round qualifier victories yesterday—Cerundolo defeating Giulio Zeppieri 6-1, 7-5, and de Jong edging Benjamin Bonzi—amid favorable sunny conditions around 20°C. Cerundolo's recent clay form includes quarterfinal runs in Rio and Buenos Aires, while de Jong enters with a 2-6 YTD record after a Monte Carlo qualifying loss, highlighting trader consensus on the higher-ranked player's experience in European clay events.
