In the Madrid Challenger second round on clay, higher-ranked Nerman Fatic (No. 249) faces Franco Agamenone (No. 282) after both survived grueling three-set first-round openers yesterday—Fatic rallying past Pol Martin Tiffon 6-7(4), 7-6(6), 6-1, while qualifier Agamenone upset No. 3 seed Chris Rodesch 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 following three qualifying wins. Their head-to-head stands at 1-1 on clay, with Fatic's most recent victory in the 2024 M25 Antalya quarterfinals. Fatic enters with less fatigue (one match vs. Agamenone's four), though Agamenone boasts stronger 2026 clay form at 11-9, including a Buenos Aires Challenger title. Cool 12°C conditions favor baseline grinders, keeping the matchup competitive.
