Dusan Lajovic holds a significant ranking edge at No. 127 over Hugo Grenier's No. 195 entering this Grand Prix Hassan II qualifying first-round matchup on Marrakech's outdoor clay courts, where Lajovic's greater surface experience shapes trader consensus. The Serb, seeded No. 2 in qualies, arrives off a straight-sets loss to Marco Cecchinato in last week's Alicante Challenger first round—his lone recent clay outing amid a 7-8 overall 2026 record—while Grenier retired injured early against Jurij Rodionov in Thionville's indoor hard event on March 3. With no head-to-head history, Lajovic's baseline consistency and clay pedigree contrast Grenier's transition from hard courts and spotty form, though upsets remain possible in early qualifying.
