In the Mexico City Challenger second round on high-altitude red clay, fourth seed Nicolas Mejia (ATP 150) holds trader consensus favoritism over qualifier Tibo Colson (500) due to his recent San Luis Potosi Challenger title, career-high ranking, and undefeated 8-0 clay record in 2026 (141-87 lifetime). Both players grinded three-set comeback victories in round one—Mejia rallying past Vladyslav Orlov 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-0, while Colson, after two qualifying wins, overcame Miguel Tobon 1-6, 6-3, 6-3—but Mejia enters fresher with less court time. No head-to-head exists; Colson's strong serving (32 aces in tournament) and 5-1 clay form this year offer upset potential amid faster-bouncing conditions, with mild weather (around 22-25°C) unlikely to intervene.
