Ross Smith enters the New Zealand Darts Masters opener with strong momentum from multiple 2026 titles, including Players Championship wins and a maiden European Tour crown, alongside consistent high averages exceeding 100 in recent finals. The Englishman’s established PDC ranking and European Tour pedigree contrast sharply with Adam Leek’s limited professional experience as an Australian debutant who recently earned a tour card via Q School but sits lower in rankings with modest averages around 80. Leek’s current four-match losing streak further underscores the mismatch in form and stage readiness. These factors underpin the market’s 74% implied probability for Smith, reflecting traders’ assessment of the significant experience and performance gap in this first-round World Series encounter.
