This aligns with May climatology, where average daily highs cluster around 31–33°C amid the inter-monsoon period's frequent thundery showers, which provide cloud cover and cooling precipitation to suppress peaks despite warmer forecasts of 33–35°C. NEA advisories noted above-average rainfall in the first fortnight, tempering heat buildup. Scenarios challenging this include rare data revisions post-quality control (expected by the 10th) or an improbable late-afternoon spike, though evening conditions with showers make escalation unlikely.
