Recent disruptions include low clouds grounding flights at Northeast hubs like Boston Logan, New York, and Philadelphia on April 3 per FAA reports, plus ice storms and heavy snow in the Upper Midwest on April 2-3 causing power outages and delays. Spring 2026 patterns show volatile weather driving hundreds of cancellations daily—261 US flights on April 1 via FlightAware—amid record 171 million passengers, TSA bottlenecks, and elevated jet fuel costs.
