Burns, a three-time BJJ world champion with elite grappling, enters on a two-fight skid including a first-round KO loss to Michael Morales in May 2025, raising concerns about his chin and momentum after nearly 11 months sidelined. No official injury reports or withdrawals in the past week; stylistic clash pits Burns' submission threat against Malott's versatile finishing ability (11 subs in 13 wins), with weigh-ins April 17 as the next key checkpoint for any late changes. Historical welterweight upsets remain possible in hostile territory.
