Recent developments in the light heavyweight division keep the implied probabilities tightly clustered around Magomed Ankalaev, Paulo Costa, and Jan Blachowicz as potential next opponents for newly crowned champion Carlos Ulberg. Ulberg captured the vacant title with a first-round knockout of Jiri Prochazka at UFC 327 in April and has floated a four-man contender tournament—Ankalaev versus Prochazka alongside Costa versus Khalil Rountree—to determine his 2027 challenger. Recent matchmaking offers for Ankalaev’s July card in Abu Dhabi went first to Costa and Blachowicz before Bogdan Guskov accepted, underscoring shifting availability and camp decisions. These overlapping timelines, stylistic matchups, and the division’s depth sustain competitive trader consensus without a dominant favorite.
