In the WTA Rouen Métropole's round-of-32 on indoor clay, No. 9 seed Elsa Jacquemot (world No. 59) faces Tatjana Maria (No. 63) on April 14, with trader consensus reflecting a tight matchup driven by Jacquemot's 1-0 head-to-head edge from their Guadalajara quarterfinal last September. Jacquemot carries momentum from her Australian Open upset over Marta Kostyuk in a historic triple-tiebreak thriller in January, bolstered by home-crowd support as a French player, despite a modest 2-8 YTD record. Veteran Maria, 38, leverages clay-suited slice backhand and experience but struggles with a 3-12 season mark and recent inconsistencies. No injury concerns or withdrawals noted; stylistic clash favors neither decisively on the neutral indoor surface.
