Flavio Cobolli, the No. 10 seed and world No. 13 with a career-high ranking achieved last week, enters as the clear favorite against qualifier Francisco Comesana (No. 99) in this Rolex Monte Carlo Masters first-round clay-court clash, reflecting trader consensus on Cobolli's superior form and experience at Masters 1000 events. Cobolli boasts a 9-7 record in 2026, including a recent hard-court title run, while leveraging his Italian clay pedigree; Comesana, an Argentine clay specialist, earned his spot via straight-set qualifier wins over Romain Arneodo and Ethan Quinn but carries mixed recent results like early exits in Santiago and Rio. No head-to-head exists, with stylistic baseline grinding likely on the slow Monte Carlo surface, though Cobolli's higher ranking, power, and draw position drive the implied probabilities.
