The Philadelphia Phillies, holding a 35-30 record and second place in the NL East, open a three-game interleague series at Rogers Centre against the 32-34 Toronto Blue Jays, who occupy third in the AL East. Phillies starters including Cristopher Sánchez, coming off a long scoreless streak, and Zack Wheeler anchor the rotation, while Toronto counters with Dylan Cease and potential Max Schercher involvement amid roster adjustments. Both clubs manage notable injuries, with Philadelphia listing multiple players on the IL and the Blue Jays dealing with Addison Barger’s elbow issue. Toronto’s home environment and recent form provide some counterbalance to Philadelphia’s stronger overall standing and pitching depth heading into the matchup.
