**Tampa Bay Rays (65-45) visit Colorado Rockies (around 43-67) for a three-game series starting August 3 at Coors Field, with the trade deadline falling on the first day.** The Rays enter on strong momentum after a dominant pitching stretch that produced multiple shutouts and double-digit strikeout outings against the White Sox, maintaining their position among AL leaders. Their rotation depth and bullpen reliability stand out against a Rockies club sitting near the bottom of the NL West with consistent struggles in both starting pitching and overall record. Coors Field’s high altitude typically inflates offense and creates unique matchup dynamics that could provide the Rockies some home advantage, though the Rays’ recent command on the mound has limited damage in similar situations. Injury reports list several Rays relievers and position players on the IL, while probable starters such as Michael Lorenzen for Colorado highlight the contrast in recent form. Roster moves ahead of the deadline remain a variable for both clubs’ depth entering the series.
