In the Busan Challenger round of 16 on hardcourts, eighth seed Leandro Riedi (#169) holds an edge over Pavel Kotov (#262) via prior head-to-head success—a 6-2, 7-6(7) clay-court win at 2023 Karlsruhe Challenger—shaping trader sentiment toward the Swiss as slight favorite. Both advanced from the round of 32 yesterday, with Riedi ousting local wild card Soonwoo Kwon in straight sets and Kotov defeating qualifier Yi Zhou, signaling solid opening form. Kotov's recent challenger victories over Harry Wendelken and Fajing Sun add baseline aggression and momentum, while Riedi's indoor hardcourt titles (Andria, Helsinki) suit the surface. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals noted, though Kotov's ranking slide from career-high #50 tempers expectations in this competitive ATP matchup.
