Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Los Angeles point to a persistent marine layer and onshore southwest flow moderating temperatures on September 17, producing morning low clouds and fog that clear by midday for afternoon highs concentrated in the mid to upper 70s. Current forecasts cluster around 74–78 °F at official stations such as LAX, consistent with the market’s heavy weighting on 74–77 °F outcomes. No significant warming signals—such as offshore Santa Ana winds or upper-level ridging—have emerged in the past 48 hours, while historical September climatology shows typical daily maxima near 75–80 °F under similar conditions. Updated model runs and NWS briefings through September 16 will refine the precise peak before resolution.
