Arsenal and Manchester City sit nearly tied at the top of the 2026-27 Premier League runner-up market because both clubs enter the campaign with proven Premier League pedigree, elite squad depth, and strong recent domestic form following Arsenal’s 2025/26 title win and City’s runner-up finish. Pep Guardiola’s departure after a decade at the Etihad introduces rebuilding questions around City’s attack and leadership, yet their defensive structure and transfer activity keep them competitive. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea trail as plausible challengers after mixed 2025/26 campaigns, with new managerial setups and variable attacking output creating uncertainty. The bunched pricing reflects traders pricing in multiple plausible second-place scenarios driven by fixture congestion, injury resilience, and squad integration during the early weeks.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Premier League for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Premier League (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Premier League; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
