Josh Rock enters the New Zealand Darts Masters first-round clash as the clear favorite at 74% implied probability, driven primarily by his stronger recent form, higher PDC ranking near the top eight, and proven consistency in ranking events. The Northern Irishman has secured multiple European Tour titles and advanced deep into major tournaments, while Simon Whitlock, an Australian veteran and former World Championship finalist, has shown signs of decline with early exits in key events and less reliable scoring at the highest level. Matchup dynamics favor Rock’s younger legs and finishing ability on the shorter World Series format, though Whitlock’s experience and occasional big finishes keep an upset within realistic range. No notable injuries or roster changes affect either player.
