Alphabet (GOOGL) closed at $330.65 on September 9, 2026, after a 2.28% decline amid broader tech-sector weakness. The primary driver of recent trader sentiment remains Alphabet’s Q2 2026 results, which delivered 24% revenue growth to $119.8 billion and an 82% surge in Google Cloud to $24.8 billion, yet prompted an upward revision in full-year capex guidance to $195–205 billion. This spending trajectory, coupled with supply constraints and unrealized gains inflating EPS, has weighed on valuation multiples following the May peak above $408. With the stock down roughly 7–9% over the past month and exhibiting elevated volatility, today’s close hinges on intraday momentum, Nasdaq breadth, and any incremental AI or regulatory updates. Market-implied odds reflect caution around near-term margin pressure versus cloud backlog expansion.
