**Democratic candidates hold a strong position in Maine’s 2026 Senate and gubernatorial races, driving the high implied probability of a Democratic sweep.** The open governor’s race features Democrat Hannah Pingree leading Republican Bobby Charles by roughly 10–12 points in recent polling aggregates, reflecting the state’s recent Democratic tilt in statewide contests and the term-limited status of incumbent Janet Mills. The Senate contest remains a toss-up between Republican incumbent Susan Collins and Democratic nominee Troy Jackson, with polls showing margins inside the margin of error after Jackson replaced the withdrawn Graham Platner. Trader consensus prices the Democratic sweep at 70.5 percent because a Democratic governor win appears likely while the Senate outcome hinges on turnout, independent voters, and late-cycle dynamics in a state that has not elected a Republican governor since 2010. Split outcomes, particularly a Republican Senate hold paired with a Democratic governor, trade at 27 percent.

A candidate will be considered to represent a party by their ballot-listed affiliation or if they are the nominee of that party. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
If the results of these elections are not conclusively known by March 31, 2027, or if an independent or third-party candidate wins one of these elections, this market will resolve to "Other".
For purposes of this market, a "sweep" is when a party wins both races.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources have conclusively called the relevant Senate and Gubernatorial elections. If all three sources do not achieve consensus in calling the relevant races for this market, it will resolve based on the official certification.
