The Chicago Cubs enter their upcoming series at Kauffman Stadium with a strong 66-49 record and momentum from recent wins, including against the Dodgers, while the Royals sit at 48-67 and continue to battle inconsistency in the AL Central. Trader sentiment favors the Cubs due to their superior overall form, depth in the lineup led by performers like Pete Crow-Armstrong, and the expected debut of newly acquired starter Kevin Gausman. Kansas City faces challenges from multiple injuries, including first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino and infielder Maikel Garcia on the IL, which have thinned their roster. The three-game set offers the Royals home-field opportunity, yet the Cubs' pitching upgrades and standings position create a notable edge reflected in current market pricing.
