In the event of a tie, this market will resolve in favor of the player with the lower score on the back 9 of the first round. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the player that records more eagles thus far in the main tournament. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the player who records more birdies thus far in the main tournament. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the player who records fewer bogeys thus far in the main tournament. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 BMW Championship is cancelled, postponed after September 5, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official Round 1 leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source will be the official results published by the event organizer or governing body. The bunched probabilities around 48% for numerous players in the BMW Championship first-round leader market reflect the high variance inherent to opening-round scoring at Bellerive Country Club. With the top 50 FedExCup players competing on a par-70 layout that rewards precise ball-striking and scrambling, recent form from the ongoing FedEx St. Jude Championship and prior summer events positions several in-form golfers like Jacob Bridgeman, Wyndham Clark, and Min Woo Lee with comparable implied chances. Course conditions, potential weather variables, and the absence of any single dominant Thursday specialist further tighten the field, as historical patterns at Bellerive show multiple players often within a few strokes after 18 holes.
