Alphabet (GOOGL) closed at $343.54 on August 12, 2026, after declining roughly 4% that session and about 9% over the prior week amid elevated AI infrastructure spending concerns. Traders are pricing the August 14 close against this backdrop of strong Q2 results—revenue of $119.8 billion (up 24% year-over-year) and Google Cloud revenue surging 82% to $24.8 billion—offset by heavy capital expenditures and a post-earnings selloff. Institutional positioning remains mixed, with recent bond issuance of $25 billion and Gemini AI surpassing one billion monthly users providing support. Broader Nasdaq sentiment, Treasury yields, and any pre-market moves will likely dictate whether the stock holds or extends its recent pullback from the May high near $409.
