Official relegation is defined as a team losing its place in Premier League for the following season through their final standing in the 2026-27 Premier League, via relegation playoff defeat, or by any other official league decision recognized by Premier League. If the 2026-27 Premier League season is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or there are no teams confirmed for relegation within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be official announcements from Premier League. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The three newly promoted sides—Hull City, Coventry City, and Ipswich Town—dominate early relegation discussions for the 2026-27 Premier League after replacing West Ham, Burnley, and Wolves. Historical patterns show promoted clubs frequently struggle with the increased pace, physicality, and squad depth required, though Sunderland and Leeds both survived comfortably last season with strong finishes. Hull, Coventry, and Ipswich opened the campaign with positive results, including wins for two of the newcomers, but face a lengthy schedule against established sides with greater resources and continuity. Mid-table clubs such as Sunderland, Fulham, Leeds United, and Crystal Palace also feature in broader conversations around potential danger zones amid fixture congestion and squad management demands.
