Lilian Bardet's recent surge in form and ranking gains, including notable upsets against higher-seeded players at events like the US Smash, have created parity against Tomokazu Harimoto's established elite level as a top-three ITTF-ranked athlete. Harimoto's recent final loss at the 2026 Worlds and variable mental resilience in high-stakes sets balance his superior experience, technical consistency, and power game, while Bardet's shakehand aggression and French team pedigree add upset potential in WTT singles play. Head-to-head gaps and surface familiarity could shift implied probabilities quickly if either player shows sharper early-game execution or encounters minor injury concerns.
