The Baltimore Orioles enter their three-game series at Kauffman Stadium against the Kansas City Royals hampered by a mounting injured list, including catcher Adley Rutschman (ankle inflammation, 10-day IL), Jackson Holliday (hand, out until late April), Ryan Mountcastle (foot, day-to-day), and starter Zach Eflin (season-ending Tommy John surgery), contributing to 12 players sidelined and a 9-10 record. Royals (7-11, fourth in AL Central) hold home-field advantage with fewer key absences like Bailey Falter (elbow) and healthier rotation, setting up Seth Lugo versus Kyle Bradish for Monday's opener amid mild 70°F partially cloudy conditions. Both teams show middling early-season form, with Royals holding a slight recent head-to-head edge, as trader consensus weighs Baltimore's roster depth issues against Kansas City's situational edges.
