Tampa Bay Rays (8-7) hold an edge over the slumping Chicago White Sox (6-10) in the second game of their three-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field, featuring Rays spot starter Jesse Scholtens (0-0, 0.00 ERA) against White Sox righty Sean Burke (0-1, 3.60 ERA). Rays' offense ranks solidly with a .260 batting average and 4.67 runs per game, exploiting the White Sox's MLB-worst .193 AVG and 3.06 runs per game amid early-season struggles. Both bullpens are thinned by recent injuries—Rays without Garrett Cleavinger (calf, 15-day IL) and Joe Boyle (elbow), White Sox missing Chris Murphy (elbow) and Jonathan Cannon (hip)—heightening starter importance. Rays carry recent momentum from wins over the Yankees, while White Sox home form offers upset potential.
