Arizona Diamondbacks hold home-field advantage at Chase Field hosting the injury-plagued Toronto Blue Jays in a three-game series starting April 17, with trader consensus reflecting the pitching mismatch in the opener: Michael Soroka (3-0, 2.87 ERA) versus Eric Lauer (1-2, 7.82 ERA). Arizona enters at 11-8 overall with a strong 5-2 home record and 3-2 form over their last five, while Toronto sits 7-10, just 1-4 away and 2-3 lately after a narrow loss at Milwaukee on April 16. Blue Jays' roster moves are strained by the 10-day IL stints for George Springer and Jose Berrios (elbow, out until late April), plus day-to-day concerns, contrasting Arizona's thinner list headlined by catcher Gabriel Moreno (oblique, return April 21). Recent Blue Jays injuries have deepened their early-season woes, tilting sentiment toward the Diamondbacks' superior rotation depth and momentum.
