In the ATP Challenger Shymkent 2 round-of-32 clash on clay, higher-ranked Denis Yevseyev (No. 408) enters as the trader-favored pick over 18-year-old compatriot Amir Omarkhanov (No. 612), buoyed by superior experience and a career-high No. 153 versus Omarkhanov's limited Challenger exposure. Both Kazakhs exited last week's Shymkent 1 early—Yevseyev dropping a 7-6(2), 6-1 decision to Dali Blanch, Omarkhanov falling 6-1, 6-4 to Radu Albot—highlighting vulnerabilities but no injury concerns. Their first head-to-head favors Yevseyev's clay pedigree, though Omarkhanov's youth and home support introduce upset potential in this evenly matched opener.
