**Multiple teams maintain comparable defensive records midway through the 2026 Liga 1 season, with Alianza Lima, Sport Boys, Deportivo Garcilaso, and others posting similar clean-sheet totals and low goals-against rates across the Apertura and early Clausura.** Alianza Lima leads the aggregate table with the stingiest back line overall (around 14 goals conceded in 23 matches), while Sport Boys and Garcilaso sit near the top in clean-sheet counts despite differing league positions. The split-tournament format, frequent mid-table shifts, and remaining fixtures across 18 clubs allow several sides— including Universitario, Melgar, and Cristal—to stay within striking distance on defensive metrics. No single team has pulled away decisively, and late-season form, squad rotation, or fixture congestion can still alter the final tallies. This balance of outcomes reflects the wisdom of crowds pricing a genuinely open race.
