The Late Show with Stephen Colbert leads the market at 72% implied probability due to its final-season farewell campaign following CBS cancellation, bolstered by a record nine Emmy nominations and five recent Creative Arts wins in categories like writing, directing, and technical fields. The Television Academy’s merger of talk and scripted variety into a single area award—where nominees clear an independent approval threshold rather than direct competition—has amplified sentiment around rewarding Colbert’s legacy amid a politically charged late-night landscape. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Daily Show, and Saturday Night Live trail as the September 14 ceremony approaches, with voters potentially splitting recognition but traders viewing Colbert’s momentum and precursor strength as decisive.
