This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The Phillies' late-April firing of Rob Thomson after a 9-19 start created an open market for the permanent role, with Don Mattingly installed as interim through season's end. Strong early results under Mattingly (initial 8-2 stretch and improved standings positioning) have kept his implied probability near 32%, while Brad Ausmus leads at 34.4% on his prior MLB managerial experience and front-office familiarity. George Lombard sits at 25.9% as a leading internal candidate amid roster and coaching continuity questions. The tight clustering among Ausmus, Mattingly, Lombard, and others reflects the mid-June timing—resolution likely awaits full 2026 performance data, potential playoff implications, and Philadelphia's search for a proven skipper to stabilize a contending roster.
