Lando Norris, the 2025 champion driving the MCL40 for McLaren, enters the second half of the 2026 season with two Grand Prix victories (Hungary and the Netherlands) and sits fourth in the drivers’ standings on 159 points after 12 rounds. Mercedes has dominated with Kimi Antonelli leading on 242 points, while McLaren trails in the constructors’ championship, reflecting the impact of new technical regulations that have produced a more open field. Norris has posted four podiums overall but endured multiple DNFs and a DNS earlier, limiting his win tally despite strong recent form and pole positions at select venues. Traders see near-even odds on three or more wins because McLaren’s pace varies by circuit, reliability remains a factor, and established rivals plus emerging contenders continue to challenge at the front. Further McLaren development, consistent qualifying, and any slips by Mercedes or Ferrari could shift momentum, while persistent reliability issues or a tightened title fight might cap Norris at two victories for the year.
