Stripe's February 2026 tender offer established a $159 billion valuation, an all-time high driven by 34% year-over-year growth in total payment volume to $1.9 trillion for 2025 and estimated gross revenue near $6.9 billion. Secondary share sales backed by Thrive Capital, Coatue, and a16z provided liquidity while Stripe repurchased shares, reflecting strong demand amid fintech sector recovery and rising adoption of its payments infrastructure. With no subsequent funding rounds reported through July 2026, trader sentiment on valuation thresholds likely hinged on this benchmark alongside broader factors such as interest rate expectations and comparable private fintech multiples. The July 31 resolution date captured whether interim secondary trading or internal 409A updates pushed the implied valuation higher before quarter-end reporting.
